Collaboration

One of the great pleasures of this written art is that it invites collaboration.

During the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic, Felicia Rice of Moving Parts Press and I came together to craft a broadside project to document our strange times. I brought the words, and Felicia set them to image.

The project’s goal, from a printmaking point-of-view, was to explore the ways in which the digital format could serve the art. By making the work available to download, for free, we intentionally brought the work to the viewer through a more equitable method of distribution.

“During the pandemic we have been told our communities will re-open in phases. This series of poems reminds us that while we suffer through the closing, there is an opening to be found in each phase, and that our communities will never be the same.”
